Experience authentic northern Ontario heritage log cabins while fishing and hunting on famous Eagle Lake. Evergreen Lodge was built in 1932 passing through a few hands over the years. Mal Tygessen and his wife purchased it in 1984 and ran Evergreen Lodge for the last 41 years creating one of Northwestern Ontario’s Fishing lodge’s legacies. Our shareholder group purchased it the fall of 2025 with the important work of preserving core parts of this historical property yet also refurbishing with modern enhancements to enhance the customer experience as our top priority. We rebranded it as Eagle Lake Traditions to return to the roots of many family’s honoured traditions of the annual Canadian Fishing Trip and the important lifelong family memories that these trips create.

Our Location
Eagle Lake Traditions is located on Eagle Lake, Ontario. Its 30 minutes from Dryden, Ontario or 2.5 hours from International Falls, Minnesota.
Take the shortest route to International Falls, Minn. and cross the border into Fort Frances.
Take Hwy. 11 east 18 miles to the Manitou Hwy. (502) north. Travel approximately 90 miles to Ojibway Drive, turn left. Continue to Hwy. 594, turn left, continue to the town of Eagle River. At Eagle River turn left at the stop sign, cross Eagle River bridge, turn left on Town Line Road, continue to Evergreen Road to our Lodge is at 1546 Evergreen Rd. Former site of Evergreen Lodge.
